Privacy Policy

The short version
Venn does not operate any servers and never sees your photos, captions, or messages. Everything you share lives in your own iCloud account. We have no ability to access, read, or sell your data.
What data Venn stores
All data is stored exclusively in Apple's CloudKit service under your personal iCloud account:
- Photos and videos — images you capture and share within a circle.
- Captions — optional text you add to a photo.
- Circle names — the name you give each group.
- Apple-issued user IDs — used to identify circle members. These are opaque identifiers assigned by Apple; Venn never asks for your name or email address.
- Display names — the name you choose to show to your circle members.
Who can see your data
Your photos and captions are visible only to people you have explicitly invited to a circle by sharing a private iMessage link. Nobody else — including Tinycube — can see your content.
Invite links
When you invite someone to a circle, the invite is encoded in a URL of the form https://venn.tiny3.net/join/<CODE>. If the recipient has Venn installed, iOS routes the URL directly into the app — the URL never touches our website. If they don't, the URL opens a small public web page showing the invite code and a link to download Venn. The URL itself contains the invite code (a friendly word-pair-number string like BRAVE-OTTER-42) and may include the inviter's opaque Apple-issued user identifier as a ?invitedBy= query parameter; both are visible to anyone with the URL.
Third-party services
Apple CloudKit. Venn uses Apple CloudKit for storage and sync of all photos, captions, reactions, and circle data. Your CloudKit data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Vercel. The Venn website ( venn.tiny3.net), including this privacy policy and the public fallback page that opens when someone scans a circle invite link without Venn installed, is hosted on Vercel. Vercel automatically logs standard HTTP request metadata for every page visit — IP address, user-agent, timestamp, and the full URL path. Invite links include the invite code as part of the URL path, and may also include the inviter's opaque Apple-issued user identifier as a query parameter for circle-attribution. This metadata is used solely for operational purposes (debugging, abuse prevention, aggregate visit counts) and is retained per Vercel's standard log-retention window. We do not link these logs to any other identifier and do not use them for advertising or tracking.
Venn uses no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no other third-party services.
Save to Photos
When you use "Save to Photos," Venn requests add-only permission to your photo library. This permission allows Venn to save a single image you choose. Venn cannot read or browse your photo library.
Data deletion
You can delete any photo, caption, reaction, or circle at any time within the app. Deleting a circle removes all associated content from iCloud. To delete all data, remove the app and delete the associated iCloud data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Children
Venn is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data stays in the user's own iCloud account, parental iCloud Family Sharing controls apply.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
